I thought that, strange decision signing for Weymouth. He's an alright player, but by no means a world beater at this level, doubt he'll get much game time at all. Think he still wants to go pro, and maybe the money was better there? If he still had aspirations to go pro then he surely would have signed here? We have a clear path way over the years of players going to prop football something we should be proud off as a club. I think very highly of him thought he was something a bit different. His dad was a legend here albiet before my time) Little worried I know Thommo alluded to deals being late but still think we are 3/4 short. There has to be money if budget has been increased as stated or why would Jason Brookes get a deal? As Thommo never once selected him for a league game and was often over looked when we had 5 subs. To say I was perplexed by that bit of an understament. UTM I would agree with you on the proven pathway to pro football from us, but I imagine the draw of slightly more money for a 19 year old could mean he is able to sustain himself while living at home, and can fully concentrate on football without having to get a full time job? Just a thought though, I could be way off the mark. With regards to Brookes, apparently his wages do not come out of the playing budget (as he is employed by Kix Start), so imo it would be silly not to sign him on if it costs us nothing.

I have no idea on terms of wages Weymouth currently offer but would be surprised if we were not close in terms of wages as he wouldn’t be close to the Zubar and Goodships of this world one would imagine. As didn’t get a look in while on loan there last season. All hear say at the end of the day. Oh I thought the football club and kix start were separate entities, makes more sense now I guess.

I went to watch Hamworthy v Bashley this evening, friendly club and lots of familiar faces on the pitch.
Dan Munday scored for Bashley, dont want to depress anyone but guess who went upfront and scored twice for Hamworthy 🤔🤔🤔
I know he didn’t play for us but Chris Senior played for Hamworthy.
A couple of other names that ring a bell as possible ex Magpies, Nathaniel Peprah Annon was playing for Hamworthy, is this the player that used to pop up with us every now and again and Tony Rolls playing for Bashley. I cant really remember either just recognise the names.

Experienced at this level and has shown he can be solid in defence and up front. Dan Munday I recall looked very promising under Simkin and was surprised we didn't keep him on two or three years back. I really expected us to have made a lot more solid proven signings but we haven't and it doesn't look like we are going to now either with only a few days until the season. Very good coach, but thats only half the job as a manager and been very disappointed with Thommo's recruitment activity this summer.

This is a squad no better than we ended last season with. We might all laugh at Weymouth’s impending bust but our recruitment has been a shocker. Would be interesting to know how much his hands have been tied by our cautious boars..

Could his issue be budget - a lot of money has gone into your pitch, yes it's an investment and you have had grants and loans but still a outlay after a disappointing season which would have affected overall income plus a possible drop in sponsors etc. Have you traded short term player recruitment/ success on the pitch for longer term cash generation?

Tony Lee has now signed for Gosport only weeks after signing for Weymouth. We’ve been crying for a striker like him but another that chose to go elsewhere. Surely we could’ve afforded him?

Perhaps Thommo doesn't rate him? The guy's 22 and already had 10 clubs.....

Perhaps Thommo doesn't rate him? The guy's 22 and already had 10 clubs..... Wow, he is only 22, I would have put him older than that based on his previous travels. I shouldn't think his attitude and work rate would fit in with our manager.

Probably old news but I've only just read the Echo report, Ryan Moss scored twice against Weymouth on Saturday.

Sean Stewart could soon be a member of this group, signed dual terms with Balti Sports.

Looks like Stafie must have signed dual reg with Shaftesbury as it looks like he came off the bench away at Bashley.

Yate Town striker: Olly Meyhew. Once of these parts. Yes did see this late last night and was going to post today. Hopefully he won't do a Salisbury performance on us Saturday.

Hamworthy. A team packed with leaders and experience at this level and above. Given our severe lack of transfer activity, we're at the stage where I'd happily take the likes of Nathan, Cann, Gleeson, Hutchings etc to steady the ship and give us a spine so that some of the talented young players we have can flourish. Even our own assistant managers son I think would be a solid cb option that could do a job here.

Playing for Havant last night, Andreas Robinson, Jonah Ayunga and on the bench Bradley Tarbuck.
Looks like Jonah has joined them on loan, he has played two scored two.
I can't recall much about Andreas Robinson, did Kemp sign him as he knew him personally? Was he the one who played for Bolton, or am I getting muddled?

Was at Southampton then signed for Bolton, got home sick & gave up football. Came to play for us & was pretty decent if I remember right?

He wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea but I thought he made a difference for the dozen or so games he played for us under Kemp. Skillful midfielder who scored a couple of cracking goals. Gave the appearance of being a tad lazy - didn’t have much battle about him but had craft, vision and ball-playing skills in abundance..

From the Bournemouth Echo today
Steve Devlin is out for 18 months with an ACL injury, being done on the NHS so has a four month wait before the operation, also says he served an EIGHT match ban this season.
Another article, Matty Holmes is challenging Toby Holmes to get the Golden Boot this season, he is on 17 goals, only two behind Goodship.
