Another solid enough performance last night against a Conference team. 2-0 was very flattering to them I felt. Thought they were noticably poorer than Weymouth, it has to be said. Haven't seen too much from us offensively this pre-season, hopefully that'll come as we gel as a team and as we face opposition at our level - but it's a small concern.
So let's have it then.... on the assumption that the season is able to complete, where do you predict we'll finish?
I'm going 9th.

Having just read the Yeovil summary of last nights game .i some times wonder. What game there watching .2 LGs above no where near the class Weymouth F.C. are at this present moment.Dorchester F.C. are in a far better place with a squad of players than anytime over the previous 5 seasons.fitness., strength , quality . I try not for my head rule my heart but with the season starting Saturday. Position. Top 6 .

I am impressed with squad in games so far, defence looks solid with goalkeeper looking good , goals difference will be in the plus . Strength all over the park my only concern is who will score 20 plus goals, Tom Bath should but not sure if he gives enough for manager to play him. Ruby puts pressure on defence but needs to score. If a couple of forwards can score regularly top four but high hopes of play offs most definitely top half.

Think we are looking better than last year but, without a decent striker I will say bottom half without getting into any relegation problems. So 14th.

Could definitely do with strong pacy striker to help Blair out, there seems to be a lot of pressure on him to win games.

9/10th. When i look at our side it’s all above 6ft. Leigh said it would be a much more dynamic outfit and it’s what he’s given us. I’ve seen most of pre season and on the whole I think there is a good defensive shape to us. I think the keeper Will Buse is a real coup when i first saw him I was a little worried due to his height doesn’t look like he has a real presence but that comes in his personality comes for things, good shot stopper and distribution is superb.
In terms of going forward we haven’t created an awful lot that to a degree is down to the quality of the opposition the last 4/5 games have been real testers and not of the quality we will face. In terms of holding the ball up we need a little more I’m sure that will come.
All down to Saturday I’m optimistic with where we are at this is a different team he’s done what he’s said and ripped the team up a few issues that always arise not always on the same wave length but that comes with games. Be hard to beat and to quote an over used phrase of mine do the basics well and we have a match winner in Tom Blair.

I’ve not managed to get down to a game this pre season but looking at the reports, the signings in general and comparative results of other teams against similar opposition (although you can’t always read too much into that) I think the above sounds about what I’m expecting. Bottom half but away from the drop zone. I feel we’re probably 2-3 decent signings away from being a decent top half side but hopefully I’m wrong and I’ve misread from a distance. Think Weston will be a tough test but then hopefully we’ve a couple of winnable games

Like most others and without seeing a game in person I’m realistically going for top 10. We seem to have recruited well and generally be in a far more stable condition.
Excited to be getting back to live football tomorrow!

A reprieved place in the league the club should no longer be in. But for how long? Another season? A drop down would probably have been a good thing. Regroup, accept and move on again. Southern League just seems to be a permanent swim against the tide, which gets boring and tiresome.
