When scanning through the players the management has put together during the summer ( lockdown ) there is such an array of experience and talent. If all those players are committed to play for the management and club and they gel as one then I see this squad will come out the other side of these 2 defeats and Covid permitted will go on a winning spree . Onwards / upwards. U t m

I think that the losing mentality throughout the club will put a halt to that. We have the potential to be a decent side but it felt that the club was concerned about Christchurch causing an upset than believing in ourselves. We should be sweeping sides like Christchurch aside. 1-11 if those players were wearing the shirts of say, Salisbury or Poole then no way we would’ve have been beaten by a Wessex league side.

I have no doubt that we have improved defensively this year. We do look so lightweight up front both in scoring goals and holding the ball up that Tom Blair apart this is going to give us big problems. We can not concede 60% plus possession each game and expect to win games at this level. This needs to be improved quickly or the results will continue to be as abysmal as last nights.

Sorry Fred but where have you picked up that the whole club has a losing mentality? OK, I've not been down the Ave yet and as a vulnerable person to Covid19, you will not be seeing me unfortunately for a while, yet all I the vibes I have got, before the season started was all positive, even from your goodself.
So now why this "losing mentality"
Keep safe and well everyone. And

I don’t think we have a bad squad on paper but the club has gotten so used to losing it’s become the expectancy and takes a long time to break. Even Leigh Robinson admits it in the echo today. It’s only 2 games into the season but we’ve already began with 2 defeats, any optimism has gone in a flash.

It’s a real losing mentality that runs through the club which is something we’ve badly got to fix. www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/18744183.magpies-dorchester-must-fix-losing-mentality-says-leigh-robinson/

If the problem is the club has a losing mentality should we have picked better preseason friendlies? Maybe we should have played a load of Wessex League teams instead, if we won (which we should expect to) it would have improved confidence, it we lost it would have highlighted the problems. It seems like we have played teams we would not expect to win against and instead of addressing issues just said 'well they are better teams'.

It seems like we have played teams we would not expect to win against and instead of addressing issues just said 'well they are better teams'. I don’t agree with your point on pre season games I like the fact we played sides at a better level. I get your second point on Saturday he’s gone on at how WSM were a level above us which is fine as a fan base I think we kinda appreciate the pecking order but you can’t use that line down play us prepare for defeat and then blame a cup exit to a side 2 levels below as having a losing mentality as the reason, it’s okay for him 3 days earlier using that line. That doesn’t sit right with me. Though I’d be intrigued to hear the full interview as it could have been taken slightly out of context. I accept we are going to have issues this season it’s a whole new squad, finally!! it will take time to imbed a culture gain an understanding though it’s been worrying seeing us in competitive action below where I thought we were. It’s the goals that 2nd goal we conceded at Christchurch is an utter embarrassment I keep watching it and it gets worse. UTM
