Best performance I've seen. At least we played, at times, like they'd met!
Stand out performances for me by Griggs, Carmichael, Weale, Jerrard & DPD. Two I'd question as to why they're starting; Laird & Bowles. The rest played did play well but the above I felt earned a mention.
It's only one game so won't get carried away but hell a wins a win!! UTM!!!

Very good performance today! The lack of a true striker did show, however the team pulled together really well.
In other news, pledges raised £20 in today's game. If you have made a pledge, you will be contacted at the end of the month with regards to paying your pledges.

Solid performance, I thought the three centre backs did well, Carmichael is quick and strong, Storey is a good all round player, in my view a far better player than Toby Downs. Griggs had a good game, hopefully he will start on Saturday, him and Lowes could form a good partnership.
Echo what others have said about a striker, frustrating we missed out on Balmer, maybe we could get him on loan from Poole? I wonder if Bearwish is still an option.
Good attendance for an evening match.
Hopefully we can put in another solid performance on Saturday.

A clean sheet❤️
Amazing what happens when you stay in games long enough. I don't think we were overly fluent dis jointed at times a lot to do with playing 5 at the back but that gave us a solid platform to build upon. Bowles, Storey, Carmichael when defending blocked, kicked everything in sight was great to see. Weale while didn't have a lot to do everything he did well, claimed everything.
Basingstoke were just an honest bunch of kids not a lot to them the extent of how poor they are will become evident in the coming weeks/ months IMO.. Not taking anything away from us but will be much sterner tests!
We have something to build upon a welcome clean sheet onto Saturday let's not find ourselves 2/3 down in 20 minutes.
On a side note liked the new turnstile no confusion etc. Good crowd too maybe a bit to do with the novelty perhaps but good to see.

Hopefully, the confidence will grow from this. It's certainly a great response after Saturday's disappointment.
Excellent commentary from the chap from Basingstoke online. Sounded like we rode our luck at times - and that Basingstoke weren't as clinical as Banbury in front of goal - but a win is a win.

Good character from the team to respond only 2 days after such a debacle on Saturday with a win and a clean sheet. Good to get points on the board early as well as I was genuinely struggling to see where we'd get them from after Banbury.
Interesting that it's now Thursday and there's literally been no post match reaction from Monday's game from the manager or any of his staff.

I've been waiting for some post match reaction, I heard Craig is not easy to get hold of, hence why Trevor does a lot of the press work, but not even anything from Trevor is odd.

Maybe part of the video highlights we get could we not have reaction as well? I know that puts extra work on the guys who do the filming and editing, which is really appreciated by the way, but getting instant reaction would interest all of us. Just an idea.

You see this happening at a lot of clubs with post-match interviews etc. Does add to the workload though so I can fully understand if it couldn't happen...

What the hell has happened to Basingstoke!? Having lost their first 3 games where many at that game against us that they'll be one of the few sides who'll likely to struggle alongside ourselves, they have this weekend beaten Chesham 5-0 and yesterday beat Gosport 8-0 away! I'd love to think this could give us hope of suddenly clicking like they have but I sadly cannot see us getting this sudden fortune under Mr Laird.

Apparently Gosport's keeper left midweek after not being paid, so that may explain the 8-0, but they do seem to have found a spark somewhere

Speaking to some Basingstoke fans they weren't optimistic but actually stated one of their forwards was owed money by Gosport.
