Who knew that if you go for quantity over quality then the latter suffers?!
I'd probably have a bit more sympathy for Craig if he had shown that he was trying his best with limited resources, but so far this season we've played 10 games with 10 completely different line-ups.

The going's got a bit tough so he's turning (albeit mildly) on the fan base.
I think he's been shown wanting in terms of his judgment a fair bit already this season. How anybody can interpret the penalty we gave away against Kings Lynn in the way that Laird did is beyond me. The evidence of what happened is there for all to see on video. Lanners must be mightily peeved for carrying the total can on that (though his challenge was clumsy).
Things won't get better if we become the Harrods of the Southern Premier League up front. I suspect that we've got players in our squad more than capable of scoring lots of goals at this level. Bearwish (for example) knows where the net is and will finish more often than not when in the position to do so. That's the issue though. Craig sets the team up to not create opportunities.
Disaster against Weymouth (which none of us want) followed by an FA Cup exit at a team two leagues below us and the board will be left with no choice. I repeat that I hope they advertise the job if it comes up and don't just hand it to our assistant. There's a role for Trev at the club but not as manager.

lets hope it does not come too that, and we beat weymouth and stay in the facup. think your right place for trev but not manager. The res scored 4 last night may be we should play that 11, only joking . you cant have too much sympathy for Craig when he starts his son over kyle. but dont you think we have got some real young talent, that can only be good for the club long term? .

We do have some good players at the club, if too many so it's entirely harsh to blame them. The problem lies solely with the manager who doesn't have a clue how to implement them and is tactically inept on top of it. I think everybody can see this now, possibly even some of the board from the body language I'd seen from them when discussing him.

I was really annoyed at Craig interview in the ECHO this morning.
I do not like the way Craig criticizes the players saying they are from Aldi but he wishes he went to Marks and Spencer's. As Fred says above there are some good players at the club and I feel really sorry for them. Players like Tom Blair and Dom Panesar-Dower are exciting to watch and Ollie Griggs looks a real prospect and you really want to see them grow and develop.
There isn't the money to bring in a top notch striker as if there was, Jem would have probably stayed and we could be thinking realistically about the play-offs this season rather than hoping we stay up.
Rich Robson has done a great job with the reserves - could he be an option for the next manager?

Rich Robson has done a great job with the reserves - could he be an option for the next manager? Personally, I doubt it. We all know he's ambitious though.. I'm not arguing against the fact that Rich might have done a great job with the reserves... but what exactly is the detail of that? What exactly has he done?

just going on what magpie wrote, Tom, Dom, Ollie, are players that i feel could go on and have a good career in the game, so hope they stay with us. although i was told dom was on his way. dont knom why with the team we have Ollie does not start. i just hope we go on a good run now, and then we will all be happy.everyones right all we need is a goal scorer.

From what I saw on Saturday, it would not matter if the Messiah was upfront, the lack of crosses, through passes etc bloody etc, that any forward needs to have a chance, was not coming & maybe if Mr Laird saw fit to talk to the fans in the bar afterwards, then maybe we might of given him our change from a pint, and if he thinks the players are Aldi then he is definitely from poundland 😥

Sorry but Lairds comments have pissed me off, yet how much deeper does he wish us fans to delve into our pockets? For instance, last Saturday it cost me a tenner to get in, then first lot of raffle tickets cost a couple of quid then at the bar, the "golden goal" tickets further reduced my beer vouchers, on top of that, Chilly gets a fiver off of me for his Pontoon, Lee is asking for fans to enter his fundraising event and I still have to pay Owen for his fundraising idea. This is all very good but at the end of the day if Craig is asking fans to fork out £25 even before the nitty gritty of a pint & chips, how much more is he asking for? Plus, how much for instance did the folly of the hotel cost the other week, would that donation been put to better use in strengthening the squad or is the manager happy to slag us fans off though say nowt to his employers ☹️

We would all have sympathy but what is undeniable he's taken a side below mid table albeit well clear of the drop to needing a final day result. Get us to mid table which kind of represents the budget get a bit of credit with the fan base then kinda mention or allude too. We are not expecting miracles we want a side that warrants its outlay and to date it's not coming.

I think the hotel was instead of a coach and the players got themselves to the game and back out of their own expense.
Regarding Craig's Echo comments, I am stunned, he seems to have completely lost the plot (something I suspected already).

i can not be at the next 2 games, pd off about that. but instead of us moaning dont you think we should get behind the team. some of our comments dont help the lads. tom remarks no decent balls put in the box, there was a few decent balls put in. we just not getting the rub of the green. he must have nipped of too poundland and missed them.

Is it pure coincidence his comments being printed today and the fun day the club held at borough gardens.
Got to feel for Mark and the directors I'm sure an awful lot of work went on and to me undermines that slightly.
Just to add I hope it went well and got the club in a positive light and get what the 4G could bring to the town too.

Is DPD one of them? That would be disappointing as I think he has real promise.
Is he moving to Poole?

I'm guess Laird has been told if you want money to get players in you have to trim the squad.

Rightly so, he has a squad of 22, if he needs more money then free up the budget, we surely need a squad of 16 max.

Steven is right of course. We have far too many midfielders of about the same ability level. Nonetheless I'd be sorry to lose DPD as he is definitely one for the future.

Hopefully DPD won't be one of the players leaving.
Max Buckler is back at Portland today, so one less midfielder.
