Right time imo. He has been the one consistent part of the failures of the past few years, sometimes we need a clean slate.

Agree brownowen, could never fault his commitment or passion and for that he will sorely be missed. However there comes a point when changes need to be made. Will be interesting now to see what happens to Trev if he doesn't get handed the job and as to whether Laird's successor then chooses to retain him or not. IMO it'd be a shame to see him leave if that were the case.

Need to have a good clear out of 'dead wood' at the club it's horrible to watch this great club slowly going down the drain....

Disappointed is an understandment with his decision to do this, it's been coming because of the crap they keep employing as managers and it's ultimately tarnished his reputation with the fans as they think he has a part to play in the failure of the club, which anyone who was lucky enough to play under him will understand that's not the truth.
The fitness regimen this man runs during a pre-season to get the lads ready is irreplaceable, the little stuff behind the screens, double sessions, beach runs, school facilities.. the list is endless
Hope he finds his way back one day with a settled management team.

Anybody in any doubt about the contribution that Stuart Heath has made to the Magpies should read his words in the Echo today. They come from a man who loves this club as much as any fan - and I'm sad to see him go. I can see it was inevitable but he needs to be thanked for all that he's done over the past five years in giving an ounce of stability when everything else around him was falling apart..

I echo those thoughts and sentiments seantizz. You only need to look at the reaction on social media from players and fans alike to see how highly respected he was as a person and coach; he will certainly leave big shoes to fill. Many thanks for all your efforts over the past five years Stuart and best of luck for the future!

Stuart could only work with the players that were bought in by the manager and if everyone is being totally honest, at least half of the current squad wouldn't get in any other southern league team. It's irrelevant who the new manager might be because if at least 4 or 5 players aren't signed, this season will be a battle to stay out the bottom 3.

Couldn't have put it any better Sean. Ditto Scooper. Good luck to him. Enjoy fatherhood.

I think when you look at that then take into consideration the comment of an ex-Dorch boss on FB this last week we can see Heath is a proper man. Class to the end.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Rich Robson step up and help Trev in the next few weeks, or at least have a place on the bench.
