Maybe we were playing Banbury today. Worst performance for a while, still onwards to Basingstoke tuesday.

What a frustrating performance today! We were a second behind on getting to the ball and played catch up in defence. Maybe the team need some athletic training to hurry them up! Also, why were we playing in the air so much and in clumps instead of getting to the wingers when there was space? Oh well, as has been said, onwards to Basingstoke but we can take a firework rocket with us as it is nearly bonfire night to speed them up!

After reading Thomo’s thought in the Echo this morning I have to say it’s great to hear an honest appraisal from our boss. I think anyone who went to the game would agree with all he said. To be honest I was surprised in the first half that we didn’t shoot more from distance. I thought that was school boy stuff, if you’ve got the wind behind you then keep the keeper guessing & have a pop. www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/15612113.Magpies__Dorchester_were___39_toothless__39____Steve_Thompson

I think the side have shown an organisational improvement since the change of manager, but the two goals conceded on Saturday were back to schoolboy Sunday league defending. Players have to start taking responsibility and get the basics right before anything else.

I think the fact we are all disappointed is a sign of how well Steve Thompson's reign has started. The defeat almost came as a shock not often in the past 4/5 years has defeat come as anything but the norm.
It's pretty much the same squad of players which were totally abysmal, collapsed at every opportunity under Laird who brought them in. They deserve some credit too for the turn around as for us to have shown what we have done in recent weeks they needed to respond and take on board what Steve Thompson wanted and on the whole have I think in terms of results and performance.
Vital this is a blip as we face Basingstoke twice in the coming days both equally important. A win in the cup would bring a sense of excitement maybe the season isn't over and some decent money to be won these days in the FA Trophy.
