Thought the same, but i read in the echo in the piece about the state of the pitch by Thommo is is suffering from tonsillitis. Bet they want him back for a full debrief on how Thommo sets up and any snippets about tactics, players, DTFC in general for the boxing day game. Of course if he was still on loan to us that game he would not be able to play for us.

More likely to do with the state of our pitch. Shows how professional Weymouth are managed these days. If you were a manager who had loaned a player to a club who's manager is now complaining about how bad their pitch is would you want to risk your player getting injured? Making this headline news could also discourage other clubs from loaning players to us.

Shame about Aaron he looked superb for the first month but has been poorly for almost an entire second month. Though i'm sure he'll miraculously be fit again tomorrow for Weymouth's game. If does feel like the club is slipping back into its backwards ways again. On the subject of the pitch is there any latest on the 4G pitch? The club have been awfully silent on this in recent months, which makes me feel that the project has fallen through, seems a waste of the hard work Nigel has put in over the past couple of years. I'm also thinking, as a CBS member I've had no communication from the club about any news and developments off the pitch. Do we have any ambitions moving forward because it seems like performances are slipping again off the pitch as they are on it.

I am also a CBS member and cannot believe the lack of communication from our Board. Will post later on this. On the pitch last weeks performance was awful. I found myself admiring the way a half decent Hitchin team so easily exploited our obvious weakness in defence. Decided to give the next few home games a miss as I get no enjoyment watching teams trying to play football on a sub standard pitch.

Do you think Thommo’s right to moan about the state of the pitch to the Echo? I think he probably is.
Back in the day, years ago, we never had the problems with our pitch over the winter that we have now. Is this another example of costs being cut that ultimately see us making backward steps and retracting even further down the non-League pyramid?
In truth, I’ve still got high hopes from Thommo’s reign as manager. You can see that hands are going to be tied a tad this season but give him a pre-season and I’d hope we’re flying. Just hope that he’s got the energy for such a tough job. It can’t be made easy if the board communicate to him in the way that they do with their fan base.
This weekend, i’m reading over applications for friends for various funding pots that their organisations are applying for. I’m sure they’ll thank me for the insight I’m able to bring. Despite repeatedly saying to various members of the board that i’m willing to offer similar support at DTFC I’m yet to be asked. I’m beyond being bothered about it but do think it’s a shame that we’re a community club that are still being ‘done to’ by the directors.
Rant over - i’m off to see Leicester play Crystal Palace - in years gone by never thought i’d find such things infinitely more appealing than non-League.
Laters, Sean
