I see some young lad that Poole have signed on a season long loan from AFCB scored a hatful tonight..
Given that we’ve been looking for a striker for an age.. and this guy, Scrimshaw, seems to be banging them in for fun (five goals against Portland is no mean feat) i’m now really wondering how hard our manager was searching for a striker - Seymour’s return has been quite cool though..

He scored 6 tonight. Our manager seems to have this massive inferiority complex with other clubs as he always seems to mention other clubs going after his targets, so therefore probably doesn't feel the need to try as hard as he should. Weymouth also signed another striker as well the other day. Lets not kid ourselves, we need at least 2 or 3 more players! Preferably with some experience. Seymour has scored a couple in 3 which is fine but our problems are far from solved. We still only play one up top as Thommo clearly doesn't rate Pope at all. We are sleep walking into a relegation battle as it stands and we're showing little signs of strengthening. It's infuriating.

Who did Weymouth sign?
I think Poole got Scrimshaw because one of their ex players is his coach at Bournemouth.
Out of the 22 players who started this match I can count 11 who have played for Dorchester at some point.

Ryan Glover from AFCB on work experience. I see Basingstoke signed a lad from the lower leagues who notched 19 goals in 11 for Reading Town this season. Clubs throughout the league are strengthening their teams throughout the season, so Thompson's comments the other day about it being "very tough" to sign anyone unless it's a loan is a pathetic excuse. Every other club can manage it, so why can't we?

He's a big lad for 18 that Scrimshaw.
He scored four goals in seven second half minutes against Portland and then got subbed off in order to catch the train that started his journey home to the Isle of Wight. These four were added to the two he scored in the first half.
How we could do with someone like that!
