It is never a good sign when a manager publically criticizes his players.
I agree with you samusarun in that we are in danger of relegation.
I really think the club needs to consider looking for a new manager who is prepared to work with the players we have but to also look to scout local leagues for players.

We are on target which is even more baffling our problems go far beyond what happens on the pitch. So before a ball was kicked the board decided that was our aim. Just why aim so low please explain as I'm baffled. Can a CBS member ask why? As been 2 years since a fans forum.
did it include being knocked out of every cup with a whimper? 10.1 to a side a league below? Or going out the FA cup and / FA trophy drubbings at home. Or bloody Portland knocking us out the senior cup.
All season Jem has said " we pick our fights" I wrongly would have assumed that meant sides in and around us in the league I'm guessing I was wrong.. When do we pick our fights as its not to sides around us in the league. Not in the cups either so when?

I really think the club needs to consider looking for a new manager who is prepared to work with the players we have but to also look to scout local leagues for players. Why do we assume that these players are necessarily good enough? And have to be kept over the manager? I'd suggest that a number of them aren't good enough, highlighted by the fact that we concede a number of soft goals from individual mistakes. Don't get me wrong, there are one or two issues I don't think Jem has addressed, but it's not like we've a squad littered with season, proven SL players! On the local players point, why would players from lower local leagues be an improvement firstly, and to be fair to Jem, I don't think you can really level that at him tbf. I mean, Jonah, Swann, Franklyn and Tom Blair all came from said lower leagues and we know he has tried to sign Conor Jevon and the lad at Portland, too - amongst others.

My understanding is that the manager signs the players and picks the team and coaches said team and decides on the tactics? The defensive frailty is not just down to the players alone both them and manager have to take responsibility for it.
So last night we play a midfielder at right back who has struggled in that position.... Sheets our best left back is played in central midfield and Nathan is up top because we haven't tried to sign a striker... saying that Ben Wood can play as a striker but he must have done something to annoy the manager as he doesn't play and when he last had a run in the team it was at left back!
I really hate to be sounding so negative about the manager and take no pleasure from it, just really concerned we could end up getting relegated.

Ben Wood came off the bench last night and set about trying to turn their defenders with his runs towards goal, but yes Woody is supposed to be a Forward/attacking midfielder so cant see why he is in defense. Ben Walker was a right back not sure the real reason he left, at the time it was same as Nick Swann in that they wanted more game time but surely these youngsters have to do their time on the bench to gain experience and gradually build up to be full team players, Yes Dory struggles at right back but all over the pitch players seem to be out of position,i suppose everyone wants a proven goal scorer and are willing to pay a lot more than us to get them. On the plus side the return of Franklyn is a positive move i just feel that the squad we have only needs one or two more added and we can climb the table. Yes performances like last night,Cinderford,Merthyr, Banbury FA Cup etc were really bad but Slough away we really matched them and should have picked up a point, Hayes away after Nathan was injured we dug in and everyone played their part, other games we have shown we can match even beat better teams so we need to build consistency and confidence. Yes you would think that the manager is the one who signs/picks the players to play the way he wants the team to play, talking over his thoughts/tactics with the other Coaches to have plan A,B & C in place for the start of each game so things can change depending on how the game is going. Jem has played all his football in non league so should be able to use his extensive knowledge even though this is his first go at managing a team. Again at the end of the day i feel the squad is not too far off just lacking consistency but how do you turn things round i have no idea lucky for me i am not the manager.
