Wow....just wow. I'm a bit shocked & saddened by this I must say, I really hoped he'd of been here for the long term.

Also Wow. Had a feeling something big was going to happen but not this, must be something going on if both Jem and Critts are going at the same time, Now the rumours will start just hope the club come out and be transparent to counter whatever rumours circulate.
Next one where do we think the board will look for the new manager, remember they tried with Kempy really nice bloke but seemed out of his depth so need someone with experience of managing in the Southern League or else we will struggle to stay up. Will be interesting to see how much ambition the club show

Just had a quick chat with Jem - who was fighting to hold back the tears. I''ll post more when I get back home but it looks like Smeets is off as well..

Extremely sad news, will have to wait for Sean's reply for his thoughts after his talk with Jems before I post my theories, it's is though a really sad Xmas for the club to see these two leave, still, I guess those fans that wanted them out will be happy.
If Mark or Critts do read this, may I say thanks for all the memories, am also sad that I was unable to say goodbye in person, hopefully we will meet up in the future at some game.

Well said Tom. We will have to wait for Sean to inform us to what was said if he feels it is able to be said on here. With both Jem and Critts going it must be something big just really sad that they feel they have to leave at this point in the season and not be able to stay and see the club through to the end of the season then take a couple of weeks to take stock.
I also would like to say a big thanks to both as whenever i have asked for pictures it has always been straight forwards to do unlike others . Best of luck in the future Thanks for the Memories

Whilst I don't want to have a go at Jem and his team, has he underachieved so far this season on a decent budget? It's really not a decent budget that they've been working on... The only people who would tell you otherwise are the Directors who are failing in their responsibilities... Jem told the Board at the start of the season that the budget he was being given was a 'relegation one' - that teams given the budget he was being offered had been and would continue to be relegated from our league. He also told the Board that his team would not get relegated on that budget.. With considerable extra cuts being proposed to the budget, enough was enough. I know where the responsibility for underachievement lies and it's not with Jem or the players..

The budget is apparently very close to last season and very average for the division, if there are budget cuts coming up (which it sounds like there are) and Jem wants to blame that then fair enough, but he can't blame the budget so far. The squad is not much different to last season, the problem is we also underachieved in the second half of last season. Who's telling you that the budget is 'apparently very close to last season'? I could, but won't because it's inappropriate, quote you the exact figures and the exact difference in the budget. And the need to cut another £500 from that is a step too far. I've not said anywhere that Jem is blaming the current budget have I? It's a relegation budget (it really is) but Jem has always said to the Board (because he's a winner) that his team will not get relegated on what was offered at the beginning of the season. The squad is fairly different to last seasons. And where it is similar it's often credit to the players who've signed up on reduced amounts.
