Is that 6 league games unbeaten now? Although we could quite possibly be more clinical in claiming 3 points, it is installing some confidence that we can hold onto games like this.

I thought it was a good point against a good Basingstoke side who put us under a lot of pressure late on, but there was a grit and determination from the stripes not to get beat. Although we had chances at 1-0 to extend on the lead (Neil Martin hitting the post with a free kick and a Nath header going very close) despite the lack of clean sheet it was one of the best defensive performances i've seen from us this season. Murphy was outstanding in goal and showed the confidence we know he can have, and Oldring as captain gave his best performance in a Dorch shirt. A decent away point and keeps the unbeaten run going with a couple of very winnable home games coming up. Be interesting to see how the new manager does things in the coming days and weeks. Onwards!

I was looking forward to the next few games until that is Dayvan uttered that word of his " winnable ", well that's put the curse on our team then... Oh & Happy New Year to everyone

This was defiantly a point earnt. My criticism of us earlier in the season we had no organisation and structure to our play, something we have found in the past 6/8 weeks was very evident. We were very much down to the bare bones in terms of playing personnel but to a man were superb. First half was pretty even after our first goal they had lots of the ball but it was in front of us and we looked compact and comfortable and looked capable on the break albeit we never looked like adding a second.
Second half all began and for the first few minutes it was all us Martin hit the post from a free kick and Nath maybe should have done better but credit to the defender for the block. After the flurry it was pretty much all Basingstoke they got the goal just before the hour mark. After the goal Basingstoke dominated but we stood firm and they really came at us. Shane Murphy made a number of smart saves his decision making was spot on. Matt Oldering was captain for the day and it certainly inspired him he was superb throughout threw his body/ head in front of everything. A mention to Sol who put a great ball in for the opener and led the line well throuout and a few nice touches it's very evident he needs games to learn the role.
3 games drawn consecutively if you took the games on merit a point away at Kings Lynn and Basingstoke is not to be sniffed at nor is a draw at home in a Derby game v Weymouth we remain unbeteaten. If I'm being critical in all of those games we took the lead and were pegged back in all why? It's not necessarily a criticism but it's something that needs to be looked at and improve upon. It's certainly not all doom and gloom a picture I feared 2 months ago we are organised have a structure to our play again and while we are not clear of the relegation scene once its levelled out I believe we should be looking up and hopefully finish top 12 it would lay a marker down for the seasons ahead.
