It's probably wrong and unsupportive to mention this - but these two signings have, either showed that Laird can spot a young talent or we have no money for any signings to replace the quality players we've lost. I suspect it's the latter..
We've got two teenagers in - neither of which has played at this level of football before - both seem to have been discarded from teams one or two leagues above us without getting a sniff of their first teams. Dory Yates and Ollie Bassett both had that pedigree.
I'm a glass half full person and I can't share our chairman's Echo enthusiasm. About the future.
Really really want Ollie to prove me wrong.

I believe Ollie was on loan at Wimborne till the end of the season but Matty Holmes cut short his loan so he could go back to eastleigh and look at going out somewhere else on loan to get game time as Matty was not playing him as much as he wanted. www.wimbornetownfc.co.uk/news.html Also see Tony Lee has left Eastleigh and signed for Gosport.

Sean Think you mean Joe Lea. Dory Yates was utterly gash. I did mean Dory. It wasn't a comment on their ability - more where they had come from and the levels they'd reached. It might only have been as a Johnstone Trade sub but Dory did make an appearance for Portsmouth. I can't see the same for these two new signings.. www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/pompey/pompey-first-team-rally-around-injured-dory-yates-1-7011320Ultimately, it'll mean nothing if Ollie and Lewis turn out to be world beaters.. Let's hope that's so... Sean

it was my birthday Saturday. The best present i got was when i saw ollie leave the field, didn't know he was a rb thought he was a midfielder with a good passing range and all we got was an overlapping player for 35 minutes.I am going to give it a few games before i completely lose faith in the lad but so far not a good start.
