Whatever happened to those fans forums that we use to have at the club, I seem to remember if things were not going well on the pitch then posters on the old forum would be crying out for a forum, and, in all fairness to some of the past Chairmen, an evening would be arranged to talk to the likes of Eddie Mitchell & Shaun Hearn.
Lets be honest here, if the current situation on the pitch was under say Eddie's leadership, loads of you would be clamouring for a fans forum, so I just wonder if these "OPEN" fans forums are a thing of the past ?'

Tom I was thinking the same as we haven't had a fans forum for ages only Co-owners meetings. There was supposed to be a co-owners meeting after the Hayes & Yeading game with the new manager but of course not open to non Co-owners. I think it would be great to have an open forum for everyone to go and ask the board and just as importantly the manager questions about where the club is and where they want and how they are going to get the club there. Of course have the meeting on a non playing midweek night so the bar can take money on a night when it would be closed. There are plenty of people around the town ( and on this forum if not local) that always ask questions, have ideas etc that they could ask in person or by email of the board or manager and get hopefully the answers we all want to hear.

The lack of communication from the board in recent months has been deafening. I have so many questions that I want to ask but it's finding the best way of addressing them. Phil, you mentioned in a previous post why the community aren't getting behind the club and I think it's because there has been nothing to give people a reason for fan ownership to flourish. Have the board even been advertising fan ownership, pushing for new members? They should be drumming this into people on a weekly basis but I've seen nothing all season, or even since the transition came into fruition nearly 2 years ago.
It's gone awfully quiet on the 3G front. Rumours heavily circulating that it's fallen through but nothing from the board to confirm this nor is there anything to suggest they have a back up plan to raise funds. I get the impression the board are just burying their heads in the stand and have given up, which will do nothing to encourage people to sign up. I really hope that directors read this message board because we really need to know what you want for us to help. Please, COMMUNICATE!

To generate community interest, you at least need some decent advertising in and around the local area. I personally haven't seen any which stands out. You also need to really sell the community club to the public and make it sound like a fantastic idea. I'm also yet to see any evidence of this.

I'm not having a dig, I am sure the club would welcome your input and any help you could offer advertising it. A leaflet drop was carried out at the start of the season that went to every household promoting the membership and the lottery, in November an article was in the Dorchester magazine that went to every household talking about community ownership, I think there was also an Echo article and Dinky Bear has been known to hand out leaflets in town. Well said and well spotted, I too have noticed the increased level of good publicity with in the Dorset Echo of raising and improving the clubs image within the town. I've seen articles on what the club can do for your local business, sponsorship opportunities and also meeting room hire, I've seen club run soccer schools for the local community kids publicised, staff and players going into schools within the community helping out and raising money for school projects and fun coaching sessions. An advert has been in the local magazines there has been features with in them too advertising boards have gone up around town trying to drum up interest. All of which costs someone time and effort as well as I'm sure paying for local magazine adverts.............. For what!! If we the die hard fan base can't notice or have a lack of desire to notice such occurrences and advertising of the Dorch name and badge in public, what chance does an undecided future fan have of spotting it and having his or her eyes opened to the joys of being a future pies fan??? come on like Samusarun says let's hear the perfect blue print of what you are going to do better once you've put yourself up for nomination to the board on Saturday at the CBS meeting. You'll have to be quick to get that last spot ahead of pugsley though.
