Huge credit must be given to the manager whose taken a lot of stick lately. 3 wins from the last 5 is considerably more points than most people thought he would pick up. Almost certainly achieved his aim of avoiding the drop.

Almost certainly achieved his aim of avoiding the drop. The aim of survival was in broad terms as we were well clear it was setting about next season. We were on the periphery due to poor form under Craig but credit where credit is due when we needed to pick up points we have. Next target is back to back wins/ stop conceding goals major problem away from home. Granted we were hardly a great side and I don't expect it sorted over night he kinda has a few months to tinker / experiment not a luxury many managers are afforded. Let's start handing plaudits out when we as a club start to achieve things. Survival is not an achievement at this level. Last time we achieved something of note was Plymouth and a very respectable league position with a sense of what if in the Conf South that was Phil Simkin.

In my opinion, it's a huge achievement to avoid relegation with the current resources available to the manager. What's your idea of the club achieving things next year IF the resources are the same? I would see mid table very successful and obviously always hopeful of a cup run.

We were around 12 points clear when he took over even with budget cuts that gap is huge. At times as it's got 5/6 points we have clawed a win.
Granted success is relevant to a budget but everybody in this town is obsessed about the budget even people who have never been to the club talk about it. When we lose it's the budget, cant players play badly. Or when we win the opposition what kind of budget do they have? It can't be we played well. Its more relevant as you go up the footballing pyramid IMO. Sub consciously your giving the players doubts / excuses before stepping on to the pitch and it's human nature to take them. At our level organised, hard work can get you very far. We have been at this level close to 3 years and I'm yet to be blown away by a footballing performance. The one that springs to mind is us away at Cambridge City last year.
If what I think we are roughly at in terms of a budget, I'm not in the know but I'd count that as relative success but I tend to look at the ability of the squad.
Belated apology to Cam for the poor grammar and punctuation! 😉

4 wins in 6 now is starting to look even healthier. More pleasing was the fact we've only conceded a goal in the last 2 games and that was a penalty.
Just need to decide on a starting 11 now and give it a chance to gel. The team seems positive and these gritty results can be excellent for moral. Hopefully we'll end the season strongly and take it into next season. None of this safety b*llocks, I want the team to see how far up the league they can finish for themselves as much as us.
'Pies.
