Came tonight and here is my view of tonight's game. Firstly the positives - 3 points that should see DTFC avoid any fight to stay up Great early goal Late winning goal against 10 men
Now for the "bits to improve" Apart from the first minute H&Y looked more dangerous Too many players diving into mis judged tackles The penalty - why dive in to tackle when in your penalty box - plus he'd not long been booked and was lucky not to see a second yellow for large portions of the 2nd half H&Y looked like they had the man advantage DTFC seemed only to have one tactic lump the ball forward Nr 14 did VERY little (his kit still looked spotless at the end!)
Still the main thing is what will be in the record books - a 2-1 win

Phew! Relief all round was quite tangible at the end.
Were we good? Not overly but we were solid, organised and worked hard. A bit too deep for my liking both forwards were isolated for large periods but you could say that gave us the platform to then go on and win the game.
The touch line was very animated tonight Craig Laird and Heathy both encouraging and cajoling throughout. It's been a critiscm of mine but was good to see as we lack natural leaders and characters so encourgment and reminders of where to be is important I feel. I think the subs were spot on tonight. Neil Martin was having a tough time with the pace of the winger he quickly put Williams there and instantly we looked better.
3 wins in 5 now it looks a whole lot better when you put it lIke that. I pray and hope we have turned a corner in terms of goals against as you may have noticed it drives me round the bend 😉The table reads a whole lot better this evening. Without tempting fate win Saturday and we can start to glance towards next season.

A minor point but we also seem to have narrowed the pitch which did seem to suit us better.

Credit where credit's due. Won a must win game! I think it's also evident that Nathan Walker must not miss anymore matches.

It was absolutely vital we got the 3 points last night (although not sure if "biggest game in our history" was quite apt!). Don't care how we won that game it was just crucial we got the job done. Next part of the job is to back it up with another big home game on Saturday. Get points there and I think we can start to look ahead to next season in this division.
Some of Laird's signings have been questionable, especially some of the loan players but the 2 he brought in yesterday look like they could be useful additions to the squad over the coming year or so. Steady the squad over the coming weeks and come pre-season, hopefully we'll be raring to go and finally push on.
