OK, the following rant is gonna piss off many and unfortunately may result in supping a few jars in the clubhouse on my own, though as that was the case after my last home match I went to, as the bar was empty after 5:15, then what's new.
Todays result is very worrying, as I did not feel St N were that much stronger than our lads, yet 5-0!!
We can all easily blame Trevor and his game plan today, or have a go at certain players ( which as a shite player, I will not do), yet, although many post on this forum tell me that the playing budget should produce at least a mid table side, this obviously doesn't seem the case.
So where has it all gone wrong?
Well in my view, I think it dates back to when Eddie Mitchell was the owner and the start of the Trust, I always liked Eddie yet obviously he was at that time very green in how to run a football club, this seems to had started the seeds for the Trust. I remember fans forums where members/member of the trust were always asking financial questions regarding the club instead of footballing worries on the field and that, to me is in my humble opinion, the same today.
Adam was quoted in the Echo the other month that since being sold the idea of a CBS run club, things like membership and community involvement has not come to fruition, the club are now advertising for boardroom investors, which in my mind, like many other " fans run clubs",equals :- if the money person can be found, then trust or CBS committees grasp that with both hands and do a strategic runner.
I joined the trust after a while and was originally impressed with the fund raising, yet just look at the club today, out of the original trust committee, unless I am wrong, Dave is the only survivor that sits on today's board, whatever happened to all the others? did they smell a rat and relise that all hell was gonna happen to our poor club, once the reality of actually running a club was harder than chasing ducks down a river.
Follwers of Trust/CBS ideas will no doubt come back to me in saying that clubs like ours would not of survived, directors gradually clawing back loans or would leave the club in such drastic debt, that in fact, there would be no club, well as to our club, I have yet to be shown proof, through audits that this might of been the case. Shaun loves this club and although in earlier post I expressed strong opinions as to thier methods of running the Town,I do not and still believe that neither Shaun or Adam would of seen DTFC put into administration, I feel that as financial restraints were fast becoming on both of them, they saw the idea of becoming a Trust/CBS owned club, a less purse draining way for the club to carry on, if any of you have proof that these two were gonna be happy to see DTFC go into liquidation, then please tell.
So after all that jizz, it was just a long and winding way in saying:-
I blame the trust for the state of DTFC of today and many of you at the time said this was going to happen, sorry I did not believe you at the time.
