Jem comes across very well in that interview. I feel for him and this shitty stick he's been given by our board who lack ambition..
Shane made loads of howlers last season in the games he played. At some stage, the discourse needs to move from 'he'll be a great keeper one day' to 'we can't afford ever to let goals in from howlers'.
Yep - Kettering will be there or thereabouts. Let's hope we avoid the relegation that our negative directors dream about..

Goals from yesterday:

Thought we were doing ok till their first and then the 2nd one seemed to knock us back even more. Some positives from the game must be the performances Ben Wood & Mario with their speed on the break. Really think that as the defence is the same players as last year if they can cut out the big mistakes we should be ok back there. Midfield looked like losing Bradley & Luke would be a bad miss but Ben & Mario certainly seem as good if not better and although Nick Swann didt play yesterday looks a good prospect. Really not sure we have replaced Charlie, Frankie for their workrate through the middle or in Charlies case goals but then a few people have said that in some games both could go missing so Dave Jerrard in midfield could get goals if he keeps his head up. Up front you could argue Mario could replace Ben Watson in assists which means no doubt Nathan will play up front with Liam like last year with Toby. Off the bench Sol Ayunga looks like he has worked hard during close/pre season and although young looks like a good run in the team could do him good. Dory Yates from Portsmouth academy straight in to midfield looks like he may be useful when settled Jason Brookes we know what he's capable off Owen Nicholson could be a useful squad member along with Simon Proffit Of course any strengthening certainly up Front would be a given but as we all know Jem has a very reduced budget to work with so not as easy to attract players if other teams around our standard offer more money
Which leads me to another point. Sean you say in your post our negative directors. Not really sure about that as all directors work hard to keep this club going for us to support without those directors doing their best we would not have a club to follow which for a town of this size would not be good. At the end of July any Co-owner had the chance to stand for a place on the board giving any Co-owners a better chance to offer their own personal skills to that of exsisting board members this was your chance to get on the board and help them out with your skills, ideas and knowledge of what you believe would benifit the club and help push it forwards to a better run, funded, transparent future as you keep saying in your posts but for whatever reason you did not stand for election even though there are i believe places on the board still for people to come forwards to help benefit the club. With all what the clubs been/is going through over the past few years we need people to stand up for the club help out in anyway they can by advice, sponsorship, business skills even volunteering on both match/non match days not keep running down any/all the board when we are not perpared to stand up and join the board when the chance was there.
I know this will upset people and now will don my flak jacket & helmet but i get disappointed with people saying negative things with what seems like some sort of agenda about the club when given the chance to join the board and to help out the silence was deafening This of course is only my opinion most others will no doubt strongly disagree

Well said Phil, it seems Sean can talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Very cowardly always spouting off on here, but when he has a chance to change things he crawls back under the rock he came from.

I do understand what you're saying Phil.. And I know that the directors in our club work hard...
We've been in a downward spiral for the past few years - surely you can see that? Sometimes, hard work with the wrong mission won't get us progress. I hate the fact that expectations have already seemingly been set this year - that a mid table position will be adequate enough. If we flirt with relegation it might just about be our level.
For the record, the AGM was booked when I was on holiday. A cynic might suggest that this was done deliberately. Those of us who don't live in Dorset have frequently requested that important meetings be held on matchdays or weekends so that we can attend. It never happens.
Sharknado - who are you? A director perhaps?
Best, Sesn

Sean. You really seemed to knock the nail on the head with your comments The club in a down ward spiral but surely thats my point that if you have the Knowledge, Business expertise, Ideas, and vision to help and push the club through these troubled times then you should be putting yourself forwards to the board.
I take you comment on the AGM being booked while you were on Holiday but surely must of us including people like me who struggle with technology all have our smart phones, tablets, i pads etc set up to receive emails and texts so if you were away when the email was sent out you still should been able to reply back saying you wish to stand for the board, also you did not have to be there at the AGM to be voted on as long as before the meeting you had put your name forwards and someone had 2nd you, no doubt if you had posted on here you wanted to stand and wanted someone to 2nd you then maybe either me or Sharknado if noone else would have 2nd you so you could have got your place on the board.
i believe Ash Jury asked questions from people away from Dorchester at the meeting so non locals did have chance to ask questions. As to why meetings are not match days i suppose that if the meeting was booked as such for an hour the gates open at 2 but the bar even earlier meaning that the meetings taking place in the bar would have to be something like 12 pm then of course you would have people saying they cant get there for that time because their lives get in the way (wife shopping etc) or even work.and cant spend 5 or more hours at football . The answer i do not know what is best.
Phil

I wasn't going to put myself forward for board membership if I couldn't be there in person.
I had some chats with other members in advance of the AGM and decided not to. But I would love to find a way to help more than hinder.. This is a club we all love. Happy to run with a level of positivity..

I'm not a director Sean. But the way you publicly outed Dave Ring, a man who has done so much for our club, the club we love, was an absolute disgrace. It seems to me that you have a personal agenda against Dave. For what reason? He gives everything for that club!
Very cowardly of you to say you'll step up for the job but then don't follow through!

Well said Phil, it seems Sean can talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Very cowardly always spouting off on here, but when he has a chance to change things he crawls back under the rock he came from. Unfortunately Sean lost any credibility once people became aware that he posts on behalf of Adam Robertson on this forum. Apparently the director of our club asks Sean to post particular things to stir up trouble on here. Very disappointing at the actions of someone who is supposed to have the club's best interests at heart.

You really should be careful posting such libellous claptrap, especially as it's your first post. Adam has never once suggested to me what I should or shouldn't post on any forum. Moderators - can I ask for the personal details of cbyes please? Thanks, Sean

On a personal level, I have absolutely no problem with Dave Ring. I can see that he puts a lot of time and effort into the club.
Dave shut the last forum down. I'm still not sure why but suspect it was because we were having a public row on the forum about some quite specific points around the community club takeover & the timing of the announcement that some liabilities still existed from the old club. It's encouraging to see in the latest statement that a proportion of these have been written off.
It's not the first time that Dave has picked up the ball and run away with it when questions have been asked. I accept that these are questions that can be asked in different ways and take responsibility for my part in public spats that help nobody..
So no issue as such. We do disagree over some fundamental stuff about how the club should be run but that disagreement can be dealt with without the need to get too personal.
Best, Sean
