THANK YOU CASTERBRIDGEMAGPIE2, I THINK EVERYONE KNOWS,Laird mistake was he brought too many players in that are not ready, or up too this leauge,Carmichael,Beasley, are just 2 that are just not good unough for this leauge. they are not going too improve much as both puhing 30. along with a couple more from portland, just not up too this leauge. Dont mean too sound harsh , it is as it is. my point is the money we are paying these players could be put too better use. i would clear a few players out; go get a solid centure back, an out and out centure forward, who has been around a couple of years in this leauge, or one coming down form leauge above. then you would have the spine of the team. being, C.WEEALE, CENTURE BACK. B.LOWES. CENTURE FORWARD. then fill the rest of the team in. we have talent jn JERRARD. GRIGGS EGAN. AND DPD WHO AS YOU KNOW I THINK IS A REAL TALENT. ADD A BIT MORE STILL, BY WHICH I MEAN A BALL WINNER, WHO WILL WIN YOU THE BALL AND GIVE IT. AND THEN I THINK WE COULD HAVE SIDE THAT COULD REACH THE PLAY OFFS STILL. I LOVE TREV BUT DONT THINK HIS RIGHT FOR THE MANAGERS JOB. I THINK HE HAD A LOT TOO DO WITH THE LADS COMING OVER FROM PORTLAND , AND THEY ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH JUST MY THOUGHTS THOUGH.

Don't suppose you've done you're coaching badges have you Birdman? Plus do members of the board know of your experience, would be interesting to get your input on applicants for the job. Unless you are one of course?!?!?!

Go watch rugby tsof, or go too town on a saturday night, your get your wish of 11 guys scraping. your knowledge of football cant be that good. saying that a couple of 6ft scrapers, along with skillful players, could make a good side I think you've taken my comments a bit too literally there Birdman. Plus, 6ft+ scrum halves rarely work, IMO. My point was more that we have for quite a few years now been a soft touch. With too many 'flair' players and not enough grafters. Chippenham, Poole, Hungerford and the like were all solid first and foremost and rarely out-battled. That was the foundation of their success and it's something we've not had for a while.

If you don't have at least 6 or 7 players in your side who will be prepared to stick there foot in when the going gets tough, you've got no chance in this league. There are some big, strong sides who will bully teams from the first minute until the last if they sense any weakness. The new manager needs to bring in some defenders who can actually defend. Forgot about scoring goals for now and concentrate on keeping a clean sheet. Start picking up the odd point and moving up the league. The side needs a solid base as a number one priority. Once this is achieved, chances will start appearing when going forward and attackers will start creating opportunities.

Unless you are one of course?!?!?! NO I AM NOT AN APPLICANT, BUT YES HAVE GOT MY COACHING BADGES , WHICH I TOOK IN MY PLAYING DAYS. I DO THINK EVERY TEAM NEEDS A COUPLE OF HARD MEN AND FOR WANT OF A BETTER WORD A WORK HORSE TOO MIX IN WITH THE SKILLFUL ONES. BUT MOST OF ALL THE TEAM NEEDS A LEADER ON THE PITCH , SOME ONE THE REST WILL LOOK UP TOO, WHO WILL BE IN YOUR EAR IF YOUR SLACKING ,DRIVE THE TEAM ON IF THINGS ARE NOT GOING RIGHT. SOME ONE LIKE MY MATE PAUL INCE, I AM NOT NAME DROPPING HE JUST HAPPENS TOO BE A FRIEND , AND USEING HIM TOO EXPLAIN THE TYIPE OF PLAYER I MEAN. IF WE HAD A SOLID BACK FOUR, AN OUT AND OUT STRIKER, WITH THE TALENT WE HAVE WE WOULD MATCH ANYONE IN THIS LEAUGE. I JUST DONT THINK THE CLUB HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING PUTTING TREV IN CHARGE, WE ALL KNOW HE ANTS THE JOB, AS HE SAID HE DOES, BUT I DONT BELIVE HIS THE RIGHT MAN ,AND IT WILL END IN TEARS FOR HIM, ANYWAY GUYS WE REALLY SHOULD GET A WIN ON SATURDAY EVEN IF MY WIFE WAS IN CHARGE. SORRY NOT TAKING THE GAME LIGHTY. BEST OF LUCK LADS ON SAT.

Out of curiosity who did you play for birdman? I played for sutton united, and macclesfield town, had short spell with sheff utd, in football leauge, a few moons ago now. Out of interest Birdman, are you from Dorch originally? Just trying to think of a local footballer who's gone on to play for those teams. Dorset is a small place, after all.

Macclesfield have a great website about their ex-players. Really comprehensive.. I csn't find any player on it who arrived there from Sutton and went on to Sheffield!! Am I alone in smelling fish here? www.silkmenarchives.org.uk/manager_and_player_profiles/Players/xyz.htmlDid discover that we've had three players who have also either before or after us played at Macclesfield.. Good quiz question for a Thursdsy evening.. Who can name them?? Sean

Birdman mentioned his mate Paul Ince, I wonder then if they played at Liverpool at the same time? According to Wiki Ince played at Liverpool 1997-1999.

From the news I have received from yesterday is that although the lads still lost, some improvements could already be seen, so on that basis, I say give Trev the rest of the month to see what happens and also it would be interesting if Trev got the job, with my understanding is that he is very interested in being the team manager, he might have a very good coach lined up to join the club.

YOU GUYS MAKE ME LAUGH, go back and check again if it means so much too you, the answer is there. i started twice for first team in aranged match never said leaugh then booted out, went too sheff utd. and had too accept i was not good enough for leaugh football.and thats that. I cant make saturdays game so i might watch the lads train ,but i will be at most games for rest of season. i dont think i will comment on site any more. most of you guys come across as nice guys who love football and want the best for dorchester town, as i do, but there are a couple that are trouble makers, that no nothing about football, just stir things up,just my view, i was reading through other posts in my view, tom blair is never going too make leauge football, just not good enough, not being harsh we are never going too sell tom on, i feel he has found reached the standard he will play in, and we have some players in our team that should be playing at a lower standard. right guys i am off. come on magpies lets start our season on saturday, go on a unbeaton run.

Birdman, most of us are all friends who know each other and speak to one another face-to-face quite happily. What you take as "trouble makers" who "just stir things up" is in reality friends just joking around all quite unseriously. That said, it was yourself who started questioning the validity of people's opinions based on nothing more than "whether they played the game or not". Therefore it's only natural that people will be more inquisitive to your own background, given that you took such superior attitude to other people's opinions.
